The Dewbreaker- (The Book of the Dead)
I believe my personal opinion was imposed more on the first short story
than any other, for an example: the daughter finds out her father wasn’t who he
said he was, so what, was he good to you? Did he raise you? Did he give you the
love you deserved? Yes! How can you freak out like that when you know who your
dad is now? My father had a shady past, he’s told me about it and I don’t look
at him any different. He’s my father, I would treat him the same because I know
who he’s been while being my father. I could never just turn completely on my
father. The way she reacted made me angry, she just turned herself off towards
him. She cared more about her sculpture
then she did her father confessing his past to her. At least that was what it
seemed like to me. I
couldn’t read through without stopping and wondering why was this happening? I
would get lost in her story, and not in the good way, there was no flow to the
stories overall. I could tell you I didn’t
have a really good time reading these stories, I do look forward to the upcoming
material in hopes that it is better than the previous stories.
